Is the Sugar Baby Lifestyle bad?

Posted on Updated on

This question came to me this week, “Is the sugar baby lifestyle bad”? The short answer to this question is NO! Of course my detractors in the world will say that I am dead wrong and list about 157 puritanical reasons as to why we should be ashamed of ourselves.  Pfft…. I could turn around and list my 157 reasons why we should all just live and let live.

As a society we have come leaps and bounds since the pilgrims first set foot down on Plymouth Rock. We have however managed to cling to certain ideals unnecessarily.  Man, society, lifestyle, standards and definitions of love have evolved into so many different things.  We no longer brand women with a very obvious scarlet letter. We do shame her publically though if we even think she is a cheater.  We say that men can marry men, but some states still fight it as standard law.

I am not here to change everyone, but I will always fight the masses when it comes to lifestyle choice. For instance, I believe that monogamy is not for everyone. Polyamory is not just a fad folks. Homosexuality happens naturally. Would you say poly or being gay is bad? I already know that most would say monogamy is the way to go.  Hell, Patti Stanger makes it a rule in her matchmaking club. I refuse to believe that we are all the same and societal norms fit every person, situation or group. Individuality or uniqueness is what makes us a “melting pot”.

Let me bring it back home to my original question. Firstly, someone please define the word bad.  The dictionary says the following:

bad

  1.  [bad]  adjective, worse, worst; not good in any manner or degree.
  2. having a wicked or evil character; morally reprehensible: There is no such thing as a bad boy.
  3. of poor or inferior quality; defective; deficient: a bad diamond; a bad spark plug.
  4. inadequate or below standard; not satisfactory for use: bad heating; Living conditions in some areasare very bad.
  5. inaccurate, incorrect, or faulty: a bad guess.
I would say the word ‘bad’ probably applies more so to the reason men and women seek alternative lifestyles, as opposed to the definition of what they seek. When you inherently know that your current or chosen life just isn’t right, naturally you feel the urge to change or better it.  If you’re a married man having an affair, society says you are BAD.  If you’re a sugar baby dating that married man, you too are BAD. What if you just weren’t wired the way everyone else is???? Who’s to say that your lifestyle choice is wrong? Society, church, your barista at Starbucks?? Whatever happened to personal freedom and choice.
My very good friend, who happens to be an amazing therapist calls this ‘individual specific’. We all individually choose specific paths in our life that are unique to us. Certainly there are others like us out there, but why do we have to search them out under a vail of secrecy? This is the main reason I created my sugar baby group on Facebook and why I started and maintain this blog.  I know that I am not the average girl.  I know that plenty of women in the world think the way I do; and I will welcome them with open arms. I live my life in a Judgement Free Zone. Care to join me…..

Society is always conformist. If you love yourself go after your own happiness and people will follow you
